Its sumptuous aromatics reveal flowers, 　stones, minerals, and spices. On the palate, it displays 　gorgeous breadth, width, concentration, depth, and a luscious, 　sexy, satin-textured mouth-feel. Creamy-sweet, remarkably deep and harmonious; offers 　a chewy suggestion of extract without coming across as phenolic. 　Wonderfully rich, ripe and layered for a wine with 13.3% alcohol. 　Prior to this vintage, Girardin's Quintessence bottling came 　from vines in Aloxe-Corton. But now it's from this parcel of 　vines in Pernand, which he purchased in 2005. Fat and sweet to the point of unctuous but with harmonious, 　ripe acidity (4.0 grams) giving shape to this wonderfully sweet 　and full wine. (The Bienvenue is actually a bit lower in acidity.) 　This is like a liquid confection and should be terrific young 　and with bottle age.
