　Cheek by jowl with some of Dureuil's best white wine parcels
　grows his 2005 Rully En Guesnes (rhymes with "ken"). This
　displays a Cabernet Franc-like combination of sweet florality,
　citrus zest, clove, and machine oil on the nose, along with the
　ripe, faintly tart red fruits that form a common thread for
　this domaine in 2005. The perfume penetrates deeply into the
　weave of this wine, along with spices, chalk and intense fresh
　fruit. This is finer-grained than the En Rosey, although is in
　no way soft or plush, and the new wood component is undetectable.
　The finish is pure, clear and penetrating, with an incisiveness
　that by no means all tasters will appreciate equally. Imagine
　an already fine, rather high-strung Pinot into which some
　Riesling and Muscat d'Alsace has been blended, and you'll get
　the idea!

　The 2005 Rully Maizieres opens up a raw carnal dimension
　and displays pungent smokiness along with intensely ripe, fresh
　blackberry and pomegranate fruit. Bright and penetrating - as have
　been all of these 2005 Dureuil Rullys - this bottling offers more
　fat and textural richness along with the aforementioned animal
　dimension. This shows real grip and the potential for at least
　5-7 years of interesting evolution.
