From young vines in a parcel above Chaignots and Bousselots
that he acquired in 1999 and considers Corton-like, Chauvenet's
2005 Nuits-St.-Georges Aux Thorey displays pure, concentrated
aromas and flavors of cassis against an overtly chalky backdrop.
Rich and satisfying on the palate, it appears based on sampling
various barrels as well as an approximation to the final cuvee,
as though this will turn out to be slightly woody in character.
But for all that, it is impressive wine with a deep mineral
character.

熱狂的なファンをもち信頼できるワインを生んでいた、ドメーヌ・
ショパン=グロフィエの娘婿であり、その地所のほとんどを引き継
いだ継承者。できあがるワインは不自然な色の濃さはなく、樽の要
素もバランスよく溶け込み、瑞々しい果実の風味を満喫できる艶や
かな味わいのもの。その果実味の奥にはタンニン、酸等の構成要素
もしっかりと保たれていて、十分な熟成も可能であることをうかが
